I met a man on a plane – for those of you who have seen my presentation Terminate Transcript Turmoil 2, you know that I have a knack for this – but in all seriousness, this was a different result.
Tim owns a masonry company in Boise and his passion is eliminating cell phone use while driving. He was arranging a presentation for his crew to listen to when he remembered me saying that I was a stenographer and I do captioning. His question… can I provide captioning in Spanish to make sure everyone has equal access to this very valuable information that was to be presented?
Using StreamText, I was able to caption in English, and it was translated into Spanish, very effectively, I might add. My son was with me during this presentation and after three years of Spanish, he said it was very cool to read the Spanish on the screen while listening to the presenter in English!
What have I learned in this profession? The possibilities are ENDLESS. Never say no. Instead say, “I’ll find a way.”
